AF - 014 Hikaze

Inspired by the mindblowing Valkyries artbook featuring Tenjin Hidetaka's incredible Macross artwork, I decided to delve into the world of fighter planes myself!
I figured I should more paint what I really like - mecha, vehicles and jets!
So I took my time with this one, started with a rough lineart even to design it out.
No ref. , took around 10 hours to paint in PS 7.
The lighting doesn't make sense in some areas, lets just pretend I took artistic freedom, ya?
I plan to do more, but that could be an empty promise yet again... ('what's with the Train Station series, dude?!' )
Anyway, I want to focus more on solid design from now on!

Here is a step-by step, you can see how the design changed quite a bit over time. I can even imagine some people preferring the initial sketch over the final version...
