I think you used to much artistic license. The Gear looks to sleek as oppossed to the actual figure(miniture).

these gears are getting redesigned entirely. While being inspired by the original figurines, we want to make them look more agile and 'mature' for the new game. Sleek is definitely a direction we're taking.

Well Mr Dubois says that the mintures themselves won't be changing. And as AN HGB fan I will say I do not like the iconic looks of the Gears being tampered with.

Nicely done, Hideyoshi. As I explained to the others, this isn't Shockwave, nor Tau, but VOTOMs is getting closer to the truth. :)

The inspiration off the Command Jager head designed is very nice, but that looks like an upgraded design for the Light Autocannon I see there, and no rocket pod? Hmmm... Duelist must be low on payment to go without those.

Great job, and already a fave!

looks like its more of a SD jager which can't take rocket pods

A Stripped-Down Jager would have ballistic cloth round the upper arms and thighs, though. Then again, this might be more a concept artist's view than the finished product. :)

I can't be the only person looking at this and thinking his head looks like Shockwave from Transformers... :XD:

Spitting Cobra's is probably the better definition. You want to check out the Dream Pod 9 website to know all the different types of Southern (and Northern, and Peacr River) Gears that will probably show up. :) God bless!

Jager Heavy Gear, the most prolific general-purpose Gear in the Southern factions of the planet Terra Nova, 62nd century AD. Comes from the RPG/tabletop board game Heavy Gear, by Dream Pod 9.

You should look up Dream Pod 9 then. :) Heavy Gear's been out since 1994. It borrowed off VOTOMs, and if this Metal Wolf is correct, it looks to have borrowed from both VOTOMs and Gundam.

Reminds me of a Armored Trooper Votom crossed with a Tau battlesuit. Both of which are things I think look awesome, kudos.

No surprise, since Heavy Gear was based on VOTOMs, Greylord. :)

But Heavy Gear came out years before the Tau ever showed up in Warhammer. Just that most people know Warhammer 40k before they ever check out other miniaturized wargames.

But Heavy Gear has been around since 1994, and has been through ups, downs, and throw-arounds, and is now coming out with its third iteration, this computer game, Heavy Gear Assault. :) As a huge fan, I'm glad you like the design. This, though, is just a general-purpose trooper Gear, not a scout, or commando, or actual fire support Gear. Those you'll see soon enough. :) God bless.

Just wait till Pacific Rim comes out. I can already hear cries of how they copied "Jager" from the movie...

When I did see Jaeger in Pacific Rim, this was of course my first thought, buuuut I didn't mind. At least Del Toro will give mecha and kaiju a real shot at being -good- coming out of Hollywood, which is more than I can say for the American Godzilla. -_- So much opportunity lost...

As far as Pacific Rim fans calling this stuff out... heh, we can set'em right. ;)

I'm very excited for Pacific Rim. It's been too long since there's been any kind of mecha movie outside of anime. Not that I mind, but it's nice to see a live-action take on it again.

Now if only someone would throw money at DP9 for a live-action flick!

It's the head inspired by the fire support Gear Spitting Cobra. A Command Jager, most likely. :)
