In 2320 N5S viruses will have taken over mankind and affect carriers of netsphere genes. Victims, called 'drones' will acquire zombie-like behavior and will be drawn to an enormous tower, the Monolith which sends out special microwaves for a yet unknown reason.
An agent, dispached from Toha Heavy Industries will be in position to clear things up...

I always thought that all Nihei's works exist in the same multiverse.
Biomega and Blame! both clearly happen on multiversal level.
