Prometheus by Hideyoshi Prometheus by Hideyoshi
Haven't seen the movie yet, though. I heard it doesn't meet expectations :/ Damn, I want this movie to be awesome!
I mean, the concept and prodcution value alone seem epic from what I saw in the trailers...

I wouldn't trust, too much, the naysayers of Prometheus, I, for one, love it. I like your art. But, it's disheartening and very tedious, for me to realize, that most artistically inclined folks are galvanized by the same old same old. I keep seeing the same old stuff here at DeviantArt.

This picture is twice as good as the movie.

sehr geiles Bild...war auch ein geiler film...back to the 80s...endlich mal etwas was den legendären filmen der 80er mithalten kann
masterofThardus Featured By Owner Jul 22, 2012
Buh............yeah, that's all I got dude. No other way of describing the awesomeness.

I heard that the big problem with Prometheus was that it wasn't supposed to be connected to the alien franchise. At least, that's not what the people who wrote the story wanted. They were forced to shoehorn it in there by the other people involved in the movie.

dude seriously I'm getting bruises on my chin now the amount of times my jaw drops at your work. this is just excellent and very focused the subject is clear and the lighting perfect my only addition would be to maybe grass, vegetation or something in the foreground, cause Im unsure if this is a fly-by or preparing to land.

still very epic though keep it up :)

Hi sir, I wonder if it was intentional subjectivity of the image? Sorry if the question seems “pejorative “, but looks like a penis fertilizing, seeding a vagina?! This ship seems that will couple/copulate with Prometheus ship as a symbol for mating! So, the “symbolism” was intentional?

I already explain my question…There are some Giger series called “ Erotomechanics”, I think you know, some ships which seem sexual organs shape, implying a symbology within the Giger universe, like Prometheus, as a prelude:

Know what I mean? You thought something like this when you work? Because it seems. I hope this question will not let you embarrassment, it's just a question of artistic symbols and concepts that the image can contain. Really, wonderful film. It reminded me about everything Daniken and many others said long time ago…

This is a great painting, really nice job. I have to say the movie met my expectations seeing it was a 'prequel' to the alien movies, and if you watch this film, then go back and watch Alien (first movie) you can make connections from that and Prometheus and if your a bit of a movie/sci-fi geek in that aspect I'd say it was worth it but to each there own.
Pumbler Featured By Owner Jun 16, 2012
It was a fun movie, It does meet one's expectations if your not looking for it to be an Alien(s) movie and a stand alone Sci-Fi flick that makes pine for more and make you think instead of just sitting through mindless explosions. Also I like the art work you've got here its very nice.
Pythosblaze Featured By Owner Jun 16, 2012  Student Digital Artist
I thought it was a great movie. It did have its unnecessarily long boring bits, but all in all I thought it delivered.

Awesome painting! Your version of the Prometheus at least doesn't look so much like the Serenity XD
Dishdog2 Featured By Owner Jun 15, 2012
Just saw the movie tonight, I thought it was very good, maybe a bit too quickly paced, but still good.
hooopajoop Featured By Owner Jun 14, 2012
Dude the movie is fucking dumb. Just don't go into it expecting anything other than for it to look nice.

Nice illo! ^__^

OwO Arrrrgh!!!The ALIEN curse had done it again!! Sad to say.. the film is not good enough!! I mostly hate the big monolith head!!! I wish it would rises up & eat them! but noooo.. u__u

Actually the movie's trailers [don't watch it!!] & poster says everythin' the one with the Prometheus & Alien ship explodin'.. damn, what an ugly poster!!

Just watch it for the film's cgi effects.. ;P

Hmmmph.. probably the title for the next sequel will be ZEUS.. tee-hee!!! =D
Chaoticcross Featured By Owner Jun 9, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
the movie is awesome no matter what the naysayers say

Damn good job!

As for the movie: Just don't be expecting a masterpiece like ALIEN or Blade Runner. It is a good standalone movie, people are just coming down harder than usual on it because they are holding Ridley Scott to such high expectations.

In regards to unanswered questions in the movie: Ridley Scott says this will be a trilogy, so give him the benefit of the doubt that things will be resolved in sequels.
greensandsguy Featured By Owner Jun 8, 2012
great work dude!!!

and for the movie... just lean back and enjoy the design and art! that's what i'll do... a good plot is a bonus :D
burtie Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2012
Awesome pic :)

Well I live in the UK and went to see it 2 nights be honest it was a disappointment. Didn't live up to the hype at all.
If you seen the trailer you have literally seen EVERYTHING this film has to offer...the trailer is basically the entire film condensed in under 3 minutes. The film has nothing else to show you.

I waited nearly 30years for this film, I wanted to love it so much but I am so frustrated by the huge holes and dumb decisions they made :(

It's nicely drawn, but doesn't actually look like the prometheus (prometheus has 4 engines, etc.).
Also, I watched the movie and thought it was awesome :D

Well, IMDB says 8.3 rating right now, days before was on full 9, but it's still enough to think it's a high quality motion picture, I really hope it's gonna be awesome, going to see it on 7th.
Secondly not bad picture, good visual.

I've heard that's the common opinion, but I rather liked it. :\
Particularly for the ship itself. It's an awesome ship. =D

Great work here! Good luck!

Well damn, that's hella disappointing to hear. Still, the production value made me feel like it was gonna be phenomenal. I like your ship sir!
Damiel Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2012
Visual value is about the only value of the movie
the rest is just weak and makes no sense whatsoever
AltoCeyx Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2012
well, regardless,I'am going to go see this film... In my youth,me and my brother viewed the original Alien,it was very impactful(scared us sh*tless!!!)!!! The first two films, are outstanding(I liked the third's handling of the creature, but I felt the story was weak)... I loved the first Ped/Alien team-up ,but the end sucked(the second Ped vs Alien reeked)... the last Alien was awful(a Ripley clone, ugh!!!)!!! Good Luck,w the competition,Bamf!!!

I would say its best to go expecting to see something New and shiny... not dark and atmospheric. Still worth seeing just for Fassbenders' performance as David the synthetic. [link]

How would people even know if it meets expectations? It doesn't come out for 5 days.

Well it's not an M. Night Shyamalan movie, so it should (in theory) be better
then what the trailers are leading fans/movie goers to believe their going to see.

From all of the information that I've gathered it's not exactly a prequel to ALIEN,
it's a total rewrite that is loosely based on the two sequels but it should not be
compared to the iconic characters that we know. For instance the characters in the
original movie ALIEN won't be the same, or at least not in the way that they are known
to the fans. The only names for sure that will stay the same (so far) are Weyland & Yutani.
The planets name, LV-426 will most likely remain the same as well.

The movie had been rewritten (a little) by Damon Lindelof a writer of the series LOST,
who of course is a major fan of the original and of the Alien franchise.
There is a lot of speculation of course as to what the next movie after this one will reproduce.
Hey if your a super hardcore fan as much as this piece of artwork tells me that you must be.
Check out this humongous list on the original movie ALIEN, things known and unknown of behind the scenes and it's conception too. >>>[link]<<< It'll shock you. :)
strange-benhur Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2012
the next one will be even farther away of the the Alien series and become its own series. from what I heard.

Nice. Composition and design is astounding. I like how you kept the sky simple, helps make the ship stand out. The glare is also a nice touch, doesn't steal the viewer away.

Good luck in the contest, but the way I look at it, you won't be needing it. Stellar work.
