more from Saber Medic!
So this was the inital painting with a wide framing.
I think this version is inferior to the one I posted before, but it tells another story kinda... Plus, you can now see that he is actually wearing a gumshield!
Maybe I will be doing more art with this character!
Here in NYC where I live, there's a campaign going on in the Subways that reads "if you see something, say something", meaning if you see anything suspicious to please report it to authorities. (after 9/11 it was deemed necessary to up alertness I guess)
Anyway, I'd have to say a whole lot of 'something' if I saw someone waiting for a train with a light saber.
My only crit, and it can be argued, I think based on the background reflections of the walls on the ground that the ground is of a shinny enough substance that the saber would be reflecting on it as well. I see it's reflected on the clothes, which is a lot closer, but looks great. I could be wrong though, for I have no real idea just how a light saber actually emits light.

Haha, funny story! Thanks for the insight, that gives some nice additional twist to Saber Medic!
You're right about the reflection - theoretically! Technically, it would be reflected!
But you wouldn't be able to see it from this angle. Let me explain: the floor acts as a mirror, so the reflections have the same distance to the floor as the object itself. Since the saber is about 1 feet above the ground, we wouldn't be able to see the reflection because it is actually further 'beneath' the floor. Got it?

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Maybe looking like revolutionaries isnt enough anymore. We have to start thinking like revolutionaries. -- Geoff Rickly
