THE DOME by Hideyoshi THE DOME by Hideyoshi
I had finished this a while back already, but never got around to submitting it.

Obviously more time consuming than my speedpaintings, I spent around 15-20 hours on this one with lots of breaks because I still rarely find time these days between civil service and work etc. :/
Well, end of June I'll be released from service duty and I gonna post a lot more frequently, hehe... :)

-Photoshop
-original size: 5000 px wide
-I am bit unhappy about the lack of depth
-I need to focus more on strong composition and design versus over-detailling... :/

here are some 100% size details:
[link]

edit: gonna make a print from this!
__

EDIT: here is a quick step-by-step:

[link]

Sorry, the last step is a lil rough :P Forgot to keep track...

Sick, man.
I think i see what you mean about the depth issues. I think it's caused by the white background, whereas if more of it (the bg, esp near the bottom) was darker, it would lend more 3D-ness. +fav tho!

lol, thanks! You mean the oil painterly texture? I just didn't like the overall clean look so I slammed some texture on it :)

So recognisably you. The composition is great, the design sense is also great. The chamfering of the street is really meaty and solid.
